Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of PhoneFree, operated by Fahad Zaidi (“we”, “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using PhoneFree, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The service

PhoneFree helps you run focus sessions, optionally block apps/websites using Apple Screen Time APIs, set schedules, track progress, and use social features such as friends, groups, feed, and leaderboards.

Features may change over time. Some features require a paid subscription (“Pro”).

Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use PhoneFree.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid subscriptions are offered through Apple In-App Purchase. Pricing, free trial length, and renewal terms are shown in the app and managed by Apple.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
• Unused portions of a free trial are forfeited when you purchase a subscription where applicable

Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies, not directly by PhoneFree.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Misuse social features (harassment, spam, impersonation, illegal content)
• Attempt to bypass security, subscriptions, or Screen Time protections unlawfully
• Reverse engineer or disrupt the service except where allowed by law
• Use PhoneFree in any way that violates applicable law

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the service.

Screen Time and device permissions

Blocking features rely on Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls frameworks and permissions you grant. Apple platform rules and device settings can affect how blocking works. PhoneFree is for self-directed focus; it is not a parental-control product.

Intellectual property

PhoneFree, including its design, branding, and software, is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal use in accordance with these Terms.

Disclaimer

PhoneFree is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that focus/blocking features will meet every expectation on every device or iOS version.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of PhoneFree. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for PhoneFree in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CAD $50.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we post revisions.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protections require otherwise.
